Course topics
Through HMS students investigate the health status of Australians and the interrelated factors that affect the health of individuals and communities. They explore the factors that influence movement and performance, and develop the skills to enhance movement for themselves and others throughout their lifetime.
Students think critically about the equity, access, sustainability and promotion of health and wellbeing for individuals and communities. The course emphasises skill development in the areas of collaboration, analysis, communication, problem solving, research and independent learning.
It is important to note that the HMS course offers very limited practical opportunities to play sport and/ or develop sport skills.
