Vivid Ideas - Creative Careers Day
Professional Development for Educators
Date: Friday 8, June, 2017 8:30 - 2:30
Overview:
For creatives, there is no one clear pathway to career success. While content is king in our society, it can be difficult for creative students to understand the work landscape and how they can best prepare for their future careers. What does 17 jobs across 5 fields look like in a casual and freelance workplace? Creatives need to develop transferable skills and be flexible, multi-skilled and adaptable to build successful creative careers.
The audience will tour the New Creatives: Hidden in Plain View exhibit - a new approach to senior school education and see how young creatives can develop real industry experience and portfolios so that they have a head start and a much clearer idea of where to head once they finish school.
In the afternoon, participants will choose a creative masterclass to up-skill or explore new opportunities including photography, social media, textiles or music production.
