Day in the Life of a Researcher
Every great project starts with a question, but it is then up to the researchers who work to find the answers. Not only has Research found their purpose in the Project, but without them many other groups would not be where they are now. They have supported other groups by providing reliable information and new ideas.
Day in the Life
Research team member Peanut explained that each lesson begins with a morning brief, where the group discusses the day’s goals before moving into “the nitty gritty work”. Recently, this has included creating research bites for social media and working with the fashion team to see where research is needed and how they can contribute to their area of the Project. Although Research is seen as a small group, they make a big impact on the Project in every area they are needed.
Working Together
When it comes down to roles within the group, the Research Team has it figured out. They have grown as they have learned how to divide tasks and build from shared goals, showing what teamwork and good communication can achieve. Peanut said their research usually begins with trusted sources, telling us that “a good first starting place is the Australian Museum”. Working with the museum like this has become a key part of their work.
Why Research?
For Peanut, choosing research came from a curiosity about discovery, saying he “really loves knowing about the unknown”. One of the most interesting topics he has explored so far is the symbiotic relationship between ocean species, particularly how different animals rely on each other to survive.
Making their Mark
As the Project continues, the Research team has shown how far they have come, and although they have faced uncertainty, they can now truly say they are making their mark on the Project, and we are here to make it known. Thank you Research!
